About

Welcome to BacktothePulps.com - a no-nonsense haven for the thrill-seekers, dreamers, and storytellers who crave the wild heartbeat of classic pulp.

I’m Vincent J. LaRosa, one of the renegades behind The Masculine Geek Pulp Anthology, and this is ground zero for a revolution: bringing back the fast, dirty, and fearless tales that once ruled newsstands.

We’re not here to preach or polish - just to deliver hard-hitting stories of dames, danger, and derring-do, the way they were meant to be. Think two-fisted heroes, shadowy alleys, and cliffhangers that’ll keep you up past midnight—this is pulp, reborn for the 21st century.

This ain’t just a site; it’s a living, breathing community where fans and writers collide to keep the genre alive. Here, you’ll find original yarns spun fresh from the shadows, a vault of timeless classics, and a crew of creators who live for the next twist.

Subscribe to dive into exclusive serials, join the fray with contests, or sharpen your own pen in our workshops - because pulp isn’t dead, it’s just been waiting for us to crack the spine and take it back.

No agendas, no apologies—just stories that hit like a slug of whiskey and leave you hungry for more. Ready to step into the pulp life?

Let’s make it great again.

Pulp History!

Pulp fiction exploded in the late 19th century, born from cheap wood-pulp paper that made mass printing a reality.

Starting with dime novels, the genre hit its stride in the 1890s with magazines like *Argosy*, delivering raw, thrilling tales for the everyman at a dime a pop.

The 1920s–1950s were the golden age—titles like *Weird Tales*, *Black Mask*, and *Amazing Stories* churned out noir detectives, sci-fi adventurers, and jungle heroes by the likes of Dashiell Hammett, H.P. Lovecraft, and Edgar Rice Burroughs.

Known for lurid covers and breakneck plots, pulps thrived until paperbacks and TV stole the spotlight in the ‘50s.
